Ⅰ. The power principle of chip SMD LED

The principle of chip-mount LED light is cold light, not by heating or discharge. Therefore, the life of the component is about 50 to 100 times longer than that of the tungsten bulb, about 100,000 hours. Chip patch LED has good shock resistance, high reliability, and low system operating cost. Easy to be small, thin, lightweight, without shape restrictions, easy to make various applications. No warm-up time is required, and the lighting response speed is faster than ordinary lamps (about 3 to 400ns). High electro-optical conversion efficiency, low power consumption, saving about 1/3 to 1/20 of energy consumption compared with light bulbs.

Now the chips inside the LED light bulbs on the market, the so-called chips are collectively referred to as "chips". Next, let's talk about the structure of the chips. The chips are mainly divided into round chips and square chips. Among them, the round chip is relatively easy to understand relative to the lighting. Round chips and square chips generally use numbers to represent two major categories of sizes: square chips have 5050, 3030, etc. There are 2835, 5630, 5730 and so on in the center of the circle.

Ⅱ. The difference between chip SMD LED and lamp bead

1. The light concentration of the two is different, and the range is also different: the angle of the LED lamp bead is made very small, which belongs to the relatively concentrated light, and the range is very long, but the irradiation range is limited; while the chip SMD LED generally has a large angle. , the light is relatively scattered, the irradiation range is wide, but the range is relatively short.

2. Different light emitting methods are used: LED lamp beads use discharge to emit light, while chip SMD LEDs are cold light emitting.

3. Different advantages and disadvantages:

LED lamp beads: For LED lamp beads, the shape of LED lamp beads has undergone direct insertion and patch. With the advancement of technology, it is logical that multiple LED light-emitting chips are highly integrated and directly packaged on the substrate (integrated design of circuit and heat dissipation) ) to form a compact, high-power, super-power led light-emitting element, which is "COB" (it looks like a lamp bead, but it is actually a group of lamp beads).

Chip SMD LED: Integrated LED is generally another name for COB light source in the market, but in fact it cannot describe the characteristics of COB light source clearly. COB refers to the direct packaging of low-power chips on the aluminum substrate to quickly dissipate heat. The chip area is small, the heat dissipation efficiency is high, and the driving current is small. Therefore, it has low thermal resistance, high thermal conductivity and high heat dissipation. Compared with ordinary SMD low-power light source features: higher brightness, small thermal resistance (<6°C/W), smaller light attenuation, higher color rendering index, perfect light spot, and long life.

4. The cost is different: From the perspective of product cost, the cost of high-power LED lamp beads is higher than the cost of low-power LED lamp beads. First, the cost of high-power LED itself is higher. Low power only needs to use ordinary circuit boards and add natural heat dissipation to meet the requirements.
