Comparing the UVC, 405nm, for example, 405nm UV bulb has longer propagation distance so that has much wider disinfection range.
Once light on, porphyrin in microbial cell is exposed to the lighe including 405nm. Reactive Oxygen Species(ROS）are then formed that can attack the cell. Since the OH of ROS is the potent damaging radical can inactive the batria cell.
Once light on, 405nm irradition can damage the membrane of the enveloped virus, which in turn cuts off the transmission of the virus.
According to the test report by SGS, Ultra Light antimicrobial LED lighting can achieve 99.99% killing rate after working 8 hours.
The advantages of UVC are: strong energy and short action time. But the disadvantages are also obvious: the working distance is short (because the attenuation of short wavelengths in air/water and other media is particularly large), the cost is high, and the product application is narrow (only quartz glass can transmit UVC, other materials such as PC will completely absorb UVC Block out.
